Past Events

So many different kinds of gatherings have happened at The Haven. There have been several birthday parties. One church group did a special Valentines Day dinner for couples. There was a massive event put together by a local church (Warwick Hope) as a sort of alternative to Halloween. There have been dinners with 100+ people. There have been work days and conferences. There have been Thanksgiving dinners and special family events at Christmas. There was a tribute concert for someone who ran a coffeehouse years ago that brought together a lot of different people of faith from all over the region.

Here are some event highlights:

First Fridays

This has been a regular gathering for worship and prayer that started in the spring of 2023. People from several different churches come together, and musicians from different churches are featured each month. It’s a beautiful expression of the unity of God’s people. This gathering is hosted by Ed Prichette and his wonderful team from Together.

TOGETHER Vision Dinner

This was a banquet to cast vision for the ministry of Together which aims to serve local churches in the region.

Kid’s Art Camp

One of the highlights of the first year of the Haven was a summer art camp with about 40 beautiful kids from the neighborhood. Each day the kids learned a different art form from a different local artist. The kids displayed their work for friends and family at the end of the week.

Book Club

There was a 10 week book club studying the book Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis that brought together a very diverse group of people for lively discussion.

Spark: An Artist Collective

This was an exhibit of music and visual art put together by a collective of talented local artists.

Celebrate Recovery

Each Monday evening there is a group that meets to support each other in overcoming various addictions. This is led by a local ministry called Rooted Recovery.

WCF

WCF stands for Warwick Christian Fellowship which is a small Baptist church that has been meeting in the building for many years. They gather on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am. The community is led by Pastor Steve Pricket, a very experienced and knowledgeable teacher of the Bible. This community is made up of many wonderful older saints who are filled with grace and wisdom. For more information about WCF contact Pastor Steve directly at 401-793-6606.

Youth Gatherings

A couple different youth gatherings have taken place at The Haven: The Merge and The Gathering. These are both ministries that bring together several youth groups from a variety of churches for the purpose of equipping.

Caring Creations

Caring Creations is a new ministry dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by disability. While still in the process of being established, there is a monthly prayer meeting to seek divine guidance. These meetings at the Haven Center are a coming together in faith and community to lay a strong spiritual foundation for our future endeavors.
